What a Deal!

There is an awesome deal going on that I found out about today on SaveMore.com! This is one of those daily deals sites that seem to be coming out of the wood works now.

You can get FREE Jamberry Nail Sheilds if you sign up today!
Yeah, free.
Pretty sweet, huh?

So this only works for new sign ups because when you sign up you get a free $10 credit to use on their site.  That alone is pretty cool.  But their deal for the Jamberry Nail Shields is $7.50 for  $15.00 worth of product (which is one set of the nail shields).  So when you put your $10 credit towards it, it becomes free!  (The credit is automatically applied when you click to buy them.)  And you have a $2.50 credit leftover for something in the future.

I just did it and I'm pretty excited.  I have actually bought this exact same deal before but on Groopdealz.  So I have used these nail shields before and love them.  They are like a sticker that you trim and file to fit your nail and then use a blow dryer's heat to make them stick on.  They stick really well and I have had them for more than a month with the first set I did.  I actually have a set on now too!  I've had these for a few weeks now.

See-
Pretty cute, huh?!

People compliment me a lot on them and ask if I got a pedicure.

Anyways, so you can go here to get this deal for free, no shipping or anything.  You really can't beat that!  And Jamberry has a ton of options for their nail shields.  It'll be hard for you to decide which one you want, for real.  I think I will get the slate and white houndstooth this time {the one on the top right}.

Here are some of the choices-

The bottom right is one I have on now.  But there are LOTS more, I promise.

*Side note- the Jamberry site is running real slow today.  I can hardly get on to see all choices.  Don't worry.  When you buy the deal here, it's like a voucher for the Jamberry site.  So you can use that voucher anytime until the end of this year.  So don't worry if you can't get on today.  Trust me, they have a bazillion cute choices!  Also, I just checked the deal site and it says the vouchers can be used the next day.  So you can't even use it to buy the shields today.  Don't miss out on the free voucher though!  You won't be sorry. :)

9 Months and So Sweet

I have some sweet things to share with you, woo-hoo!

First, look at my little 9 month old boy!  I can't believe he's getting close to being 1 year old. Cah-razy!

Grayson is such a sweet little guy.  He smiles all the time and at everyone.  Anyone who looks at him he will smile at.  And if they talk to him, oh boy does he smile big!  He likes everyone and still doesn't show a preference for me or Josh or anyone.  He's never been upset when I drop him off at the kids' corner at the gym or to a baby-sitter.  He's just happy to be wherever with whoever.  No stranger danger for this guy.   Hmmm... could be a bad thing.

My little Gray baby is getting so good at walking with his push toys.  Grandy got him a really cool one when she and Papa were visiting.  Downstairs is all laminate flooring and he couldn't keep up with the push toy at first because it went too fast on the hard floor.  But it didn't take him long to get the hang of it.  He walks along all the furniture and anything else he can pull up on. He also has stood up a couple times without holding on for like a second or 2!

{first time swinging at the park!}

Gray is eating more solid foods and LOVES his puffs.  He will eat those babies all day.  When he won't eat his baby food, he'll eat puffs.  I think he really likes the independence of being able to feed himself.  It's so cute to watch him picking up the puffs and put them in his mouth.  Ok, it doesn't sound cute, but it is.  At least to this momma!

When we are hanging out upstairs we have to make sure to close the doors of whatever room we are in.  As soon as Grayson sees an open door, he makes a beeline for it crawling as fast as he can.  Then he goes straight for the stairs.  Giggling the whole way.  He knows we'll chase after him.  He thinks it's a game.  We are just trying to save him from falling down the stairs.  He would go headfirst down without a second thought!

Luckily now, Grayson will stop and look when we say his name usually.  So if he's crawling to the stairs and we yell, "Grayson," he'll stop for a second and look.  Wonder how long that will last.  He also LOVES to pull the plugs out of the wall.  He will look over at us right before he tries because he knows he's not supposed to.  We'll tell him no and he'll stop for a sec.  He'll do that few more times, but he always stops when we tell him to.  Then he finally gives up and crawls somewhere else.  What a good boy!

So this morning Grayson fell asleep in his bouncer while I was downstairs cleaning up.  He was laying down normally. Then I heard him cry for a couple seconds and then stop.  When I went back to check on him, this is what I found.
Yep, he is fast asleep.  I couldn't believe he could sleep like that!  He must have sat up when he woke up and cried for a few seconds and then fell right back asleep without laying back.  Haha, what a funny little guy.

Don't worry.  I didn't leave him like that.  I gently moved him to lie on his back and he didn't even wake up!  Phew!  He did have a nice red mark on his cheek from where he was laying on the bouncer

What a sweetie pie.

I love this little guy to pieces!

Computerless

Yep, no computer. How am I posting this you ask? On my ipad2. I LOVE my little tax return present, but it's not so great for blogging. It probably took me about 5 minutes to type this much! And in addition to slow typing I can't upload pictures from my camera either. And everyone knows no pictures=boring post. :)

Josh has been in Canada, Vancouver to be exact, for the last 5 days. He's at some doctor conference presenting research he's been working on. Hence the reason I have no computer. He needed it so he could study for boards while he is gone. They are coming up in a few short weeks. He needs to get a good score so he can get the residency he wants. So it's kinda a big deal. Also him being at this conference presenting research will be SO good for his "resume" for getting residency too. So even though it stinks he is gone, we are glad for this opportunity.

Oh, I just got a text from him, he's back in the US! Yay! He comes home tonight late. Finally. Well, I'm going to go. This much took forever! Next post will be less boring, I promise. :)

Easter... wait a sec... yep you read that right, EASTER

So I'm only like 4 weeks late.

Big deal.

I can't believe I forgot to blog about our Easter outfits!!!

So I'm doing it now.

My handsome guys on Sunday morning.  Look at that matching!

I'd never matched Josh and Gray before and let me tell you, it was so fun!  The pink shirts were a last minute decision, but I just LURVE how they look in them.

We tried to get a picture of us all at church, but Gray wouldn't look.  See?

Yep, I'm matching too.  Just not quite as well.  But it was still pretty good.

I'd found this tutorial {sorry I don't remember where anymore} of how to make matching father/son ties from 2 normal ties.  Basically you take one of the ties, tie it, cut it, and sew some elastic on for the little one.  Then they have matching ties and you only had to make 1!  Plus I found them on clearance at JC Penny for $4.98 each.  Um, what a steal!

So here is our second attempt at a family picture after church.
Much better!

How handsome are my boys?!

Oh and I made my skirt and necklace too.  The skirt tutorial is here and was surprisingly easy.  I just made the necklace with leftover fabric from the skirt.

Grayson loves to grabs leaves.

Do you love matching too?

Baking Mayhem

So I've concluded the only way to get out of my blogging funk {read about here} is to just blog anyways!  I'm just full of great ideas, I tell you what people. :)

So I was looking through all my pictures for some blogging inspiration and decided on this-

organizing my baking cabinet

Pretty messy and unorganized, oh yeah!

So I got some pretty canisters from Walmart and used the vinyl I won from a giveaway awhile back to do this.  I used the bigger ones for the ingredients I use more often.  And also so I could see them in the back of the cabinet.

I just love how the vinyl stands out once the canisters are full!
I know, I need to buy more salt.

Now that I own my very own Silhouettte, I could of made these myself.  But I don't have black vinyl yet and they were free, so a good day in my book!

I put the big ones in back...

Then I put the others in front.  But it was too squished.  I could barely fit them in there, let alone get one out.

So Salt went up top.  And here is how it ended up-

And for the all important and my favorite, before and after-

{I should have taken them both vertical or both horizontal... oh well}

Have you done any organizing lately?  Or used vinyl to spice something up?

Organizing makes me happy.

Mojo

I've lost my blogging mojo.

I don't feel like blogging.

I have plenty of ideas.

But I don't blog.

Has this happened to any of you before?  Any advice for me?

Blah.

Here are some pictures of my little sweetums so we don't end on a terribly dull note. :)

At least I'm smiling now!

Lucky Me

Look what I found when I got out of the shower on Mother's Day!

Pretty pretty flowers for my thrifted vases

A sweet booklet with some great coupons I can't wait to use!

And finally, my beloved Silhouette!  I'm now with all you other crafty peeps who've had one of these, oh, forever! :)

I also got to spend the day relaxing and hanging out with my 2 favorite boys.

Thanks Sweetheart and Gray for the best Mother's Day!

Mommies

This is my first Mother's Day as a Mom!   Last year I was pregnant, so I still got to celebrate as a soon-to-be Mom but this year it feels more legit.  Like, yeah, I really AM a Mom now.  I'm so lucky to be a momma to my little guy.  I'm so thankful for him and the light he is in my life everyday.

I've loved my first 8 months of mommyhood and look forward to many more months and years ahead.  Here are some pictures of me and my boy during the last 8 months.

{Watch him get bigger and bigger!}

Being a mom is the best.  Period.

It's true what they say about how being a mom is such a hard job but oh-so-worth-it!  I've wanted to be a mom for as long as I could remember.  Yes, I wanted to go to college and get an education, but ultimately, my goal was to have and raise my family as a stay-at-home mom.  I had the perfect example of that in my own mom.  She is the BEST mother ever!  I always wanted to be just like her.  She stayed home and raised us even though I know money was often tight and it might have been tempting to work.  I still go to my mom for advice and help and encouragement and she is always there.  Thanks Mom for being the greatest in the whole wide world!  I'm lucky to have you to look to as such an exemplary mother.  I love you!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
