Bedroom makeover part 1

 (Look what I made!)

So I've been wanting to add more color to our master bedroom for quite awhile.  This is pretty much the last room to get any attention because only Josh and I see it.  But it is quite blah...  We have lots of pale, neutral colors and I'm sick of it.  When I saw this 15 minute canvas tutorial I knew this would be a great start to prettying up our bedroom!  I do have to say it took me a lot longer than 15 minutes.  However, I am new to crafting and being creative.  And I'm a little bit of a perfectionist apparently.  I'm sure lots of you could do it in about 15 minutes though.  Here is the before of the dresser area.

And after, with my pretty canvas art!

I am seriously in love with the red/aqua color combination!  It's so bright and pretty.  It was really quite simple to make.  And cheap! I already had the scrapbook paper, mod podge, paint, and the canvases I got 50% off.  Total cost for this project was less than $10!  Now I just need something creative to do with all my jewelry.  I'm not fond of it all haphazardly thrown on the dresser... any good ideas?

Just Being Cute

Can I just say how much I LOVE this little boy!  He is so sweet and so cute and so wonderful.  I just can't get enough of him.  He makes me smile all the time.  He makes me happy all the time.  He makes this super hard mommy job totally and completely worth it!  (it's a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I mean I knew it'd be hard, just not this hard.)  He is 2 months old and growing up way too fast.  He can lift his head up really well.  He always loves looking around at everything.  Whenever I hold him facing me, he is constantly whipping his around back and forth so he can see all around.  He smiles so big and so sweetly.  His most smilely time is right after he's eaten, burped, and had a diaper change.  He also always smiles when we put his car seat down in the car and he sees his little monkey mirror.  It's SO cute watch him when he sees it and just breaks out into the biggest grin.  I love it.  And it really is every time we put him in the car, without fail.  He loves looking at his crib mobile and playing on his jungle gym.  Here are some pictures of my little button over the last week or so.

Oh how these smiles melt my heart.

 Look at my cute jacket.

milk coma! plus it looks like he's showing off his muscles

I got that monkey all by myself!

Look Auntie Holly and Auntie Annalyn- I'm wearing monkey-butt for the last time!  Mommy made me squeeze into it one more time for a picture!

Last of Halloween

So I was actually on top of things and put away all my Halloween stuff on November 1st.  There were a couple of projects I did for Halloween last minute that I had up for only like a week or so.  They were some of my favorites so I wanted to show 'em off!

This one I got the idea from here and tweaked it a little.  I love it! The distressing ink on the edges really adds a lot in my opinion.  :)

This wreath is cutesy Halloween, which I like more than scary Halloween.  I'm so glad someone thought of this idea, isn't it darling?!  I found it here.  My friend Erin and I started working on them together.  Hers is a lot fuller than mine, which I like a lot.  I just really ran out of patience at the end.  Oh well, it's good enough for me!

I have another project I just finished to brighten up the master bedroom (which seriously needs it).  Look for that soon!

Here's one last thing I've made recently- an applique tie onesie.  My sewing skills are minimal but if you don't look too close it looks pretty good. :) The model is the best part though! I got the idea here.  The girl who writes the blog is so sweet!  I emailed her with some questions about the project and she was so nice and helpful.  Thanks Amy!
