Our Little One

Josh and I are expecting our first baby!!! We are so excited and can't wait to be parents to our little one. I'm currently 12 weeks along, about 2 and half months, and due on August 26. Our baby is the size of a lime right now. This ultrasound picture is from when I was 8 weeks pregnant.

For those of you who want to know all the gory details, continue reading! I have been feeling pretty sick since around the 6th week. I usually don't actually get sick but I just feel nauseous everyday. Although I do throw up about once every week or two. My first time actually getting sick was on an airplane and that was NOT fun. We had to take 2 planes to get back home after Christmas break. Both times as the plane was descending to land I threw up in the handy barf bags. The first flight a lot of it got on me and it was disgusting. Luckily Josh gave me his sweatshirt to wear and I could get rid of the yucky one. When I feel the nausea coming I eat a snack and usually feel better, so that's good. Josh has bee SO wonderful! Since I feel pretty bad after waking up in the morning (because my stomach has been empty for so long) Josh will get up first, go downstairs to get me a bowl of cereal, and then bring it up to me so I can eat it in bed without having to get up. That helps a TON and since he started doing that I don't feel bad most mornings. Also whenever we're home and I don't feel well, he just lets me lie down and rest. He'll make dinner, do the chores, get me a snack, or whatever it is that needs to be done. I'm SOOO very grateful to him and how wonderful he's been to me through all of it. I really hope that I only feel sick my first trimester. I don't if I could do this for 9 months. Jennilyn, you're a star! I'm so impressed with how you handled everything throughout your pregnancy, seemed so on top of things, and managed being sick the whole time. I hope I'm not as "lucky" as you though! ;)

  3. That is so exciting, congratulations! I was also sick the whole time and it was lame. I did throw up several times every day for the first 5 or 6 months and then about once every day for the next 3. But I hope you aren't sick that long either. Either way, babies are so fun. Well, after the first awful month or two, then they start to get fun. It's pretty stressful at first, but I'll let you think about your pregnancy first before you start worrying about the having the baby part. Anyway, I'm really happy for you guys. That's awesome!

Hey- so You don't know me, and I hope you don't think this is too wierd, but I saw you comment on the nursing bra tank giveaway and clicked on your profile picture because I thought it was pretty- and I ended up on your blog- and I saw that you know my sister-in-law Amber Dickens. (I'm married to Amber's brother) Crazy! Anyway, congrats on the upcoming baby... and tell Amber and Noel hi for us!
