So, in case you haven't heard, Google Reader is going away in July. Boo. I love using Reader to follow and read my blogs. I ignored the problem for a bit and finally just came to terms that I need to do something about it. I decided to switch to bloglovin'. It wasn't so bad! Pretty easy to figure out. You can also import all your blogs from google reader, so it's easy to keep following all of the same blogs you do now. Anyway, if you want to keep following me you can click below! :)

Match Day
Yesterday was the BIG DAY our little family has been wating for for what seems forever now... Match Day!
For those of you not familiar with how medical school works I'll explain it a little bit. All med students in their 4th year apply to residency positions for after graduation. Everyone has to do a residency. You pick a specialty and apply to as many schools as you want in that specialty. Josh chose anesthesia. Some specialties are more competitive and thereby more difficult to get into. Anyway, after you apply, schools can invite you for an interview. After all the interviews happen (it takes a few months) then you submit your rank list. You rank the schools that you interviewed at and they rank you. A fancy computer system thing uses the lists and matches you to a school for your residency. Then on Match Day you find out where you matched and where you'll be spending the next X number of years. (Different specialties have a different number of years required for residency- pediatrics is 3, anesthesia is 4, surgery is like 8 or something crazy)
So, Match Day is a pretty big deal for us in the 4th year of medical school! It's the day that determines our life for the next few years. There is also the possibility of not matching at all, which would be awful. Anyways, we were fortunate enough to match and we matched at our #1 choice- University of Florida in Gainesville! Woo-Hoo! My honey is pretty much amazing.
I do feel I need to say that we are NOT, nor will we ever be, Gator fans! If you know about the Florida State and University of Florida rivalry then you understand my disclaimer. My dad and sister went to FSU and my family are die hard FSU fans. So we'll be sporting our Seminole gear around Gainesville, yesiree. Hopefully we don't get spit on. ;)
So why did we choose UoF? Well, to be close to family! And FSU didn't have a anesthesia residency program. My parents and youngest sister live about 1 hour from Gainesville, and my other 2 sisters live a couple hours away in different directions. After 4 years of med school in Kentucky, Josh and I were ready to live near family! Residency is hard and Josh will be really busy and have some long days and night. I'm looking forward to having the support of so much family nearby.
After they read their letter, the students put a pin with their name on the map where they matched so everyone could see how the class spread out. It was pretty neat.
We had a great time at the Match Day banquet! It was a lot of fun and of course we were happy with our results.

{I took a video of Josh reading his letter. The music you hear at the beginning is the song clip Josh chose for when he was walking up to the stage (Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody). Each student got to submit a song clip. It was fun to hear what people chose.}

2 Things
1. We found out yesterday that Josh has definitely MATCHED! We don't know where yet, be he did match somewhere for Residency, which is such a relief to know! We will find out on Friday- Match Day, where it is that we matched and thus where we'll be living for the next 4 years. Friday can't come fast enough! Our top 3 choices that we ranked are 1. University of Florida in Gainesville, 2. Loma Linda University in Southern California, and 3. University of Kentucky (here, where we are now) in Lexington. We also have Duke (North Carolina), Vanderbilt (Tennessee), and UC Irvine (S. California) in the mix too. I'm so ready to know!
2. Miss Reese Mari decided to start laughing yesterday! It is the most wonderful sound to hear and I loved making her laugh. She hasn't repeated it yet, but I'm so glad she's laughing now! There's something about a baby's laugh that is just the best thing ever. I got it on video a little bit. She was laughing a lot more before I got the camera out, of course. But at 0:47, 1:06, and 1:23 you can hear a couple little laughs. :)

Mostly Gray
Most of my recent posts have been about Reese so I thought I should do one about Grayson. He is such an energetic, happy, full-of-life toddler! He definitely gives me a run for my money every day! I've mentioned to some friends lately that I think my toddler is probably more difficult right now than my little baby. I think he's still just adjusting to our new life as a family of 4 and needing some extra attention.
{Ps- did you notice my blog's new look?! Click over and check it out if you're in a reader. I just needed a change. The old look was done when Grayson was born, so it'd been 2.5 years. I love it!}
We got some Papa Murphy's pizza recently and they have this small personal sized kids pizza. It's so cute. It's a little pizza kit so the kid can make their own pizza. Grayson loved it! He was so proud of his pizza.
What he loved even more was the little pizza box that came with his pizza. He played with that for days and days after our pizza night. I eventually threw it away when he hadn't played with it recently and then he asked about it. Whoops. :)
Gray turned 2 and a half at the end of February and we celebrated his half birthday. I've never done half birthdays before but I thought Gray deserved some special time just for him. He loved it! He loved blowing out the candles and talking about "mine cake."
We love our little 2 and a half year old boy SO much!

Ok, I have to throw in a couple of Reese, she's too cute not to!
I was throwing away some old canvases and Grayson had fun painting on them first.

We were babysitting for his friend Abbi that night so she got to celebrate with us. :)

Reese- 3 Months
**Warning- Picture Overload!**
So far I've been good at doing these monthly updates for Reese, hopefully I can last!
My sweet baby girl turned 3 months last week and I can hardly believe that much time has gone by since she was born. I don't think I can call her a newborn anymore. *sniff* She's chunkin' up and I love it! I could just eat her precious little cheeks up! Ok, enough gushing, but I just love this little girl to pieces!
Ok, lets talk about that hairbow for a minute, too cute right?! My talented friend Ali makes and sells them in her etsy shop. I have a few in different colors and they're so fun!
Reese is my little cuddle bug. She loves to snuggle and I love to hold my snuggly girl! She's getting good at holding her head up but she'll still cuddle a lot. As soon as Gray could hold his head up that was the end of cuddles. (Until he turned 2 and decided he likes to cuddle sometimes, yay.) So I'm hopeful to still have lots more cuddles with her!
I was a very cuddly baby, maybe she takes after me. I was a lot worse though, I didn't want to be put down ever. Made things very difficult for my mom. :) Reese is so good and easy-going, she's happy cuddling or being put down on her jungle gym or in her swing or crib or wherever!
Reese hardly ever spits up, which is so nice. Grayson did most every feeding. So this is a nice change. Although, I made all these burp rags for her thinking I'd need them like with Gray. We've barely touched them! But that's ok, I'm not complaining. She IS a drooler though, Gray wasn't. She can soak your sleeve in no time flat! Maybe I'll start using those burp rags on my arm when I'm holding her just to soak up the drool.
She's just starting to figure out her hands a little bit. She reaches out and tries to grab things. You can tell it takes a lot of concentration for her. She did really well grabbing a hanging toy in her swing today. I was so proud!
Reese is such a sweet and happy little girl. She brings us so much joy and I'm so happy she's part of our family. Time since she was born has gone so fast yet at the same time I can hardly remember life without her anymore. We love you little Reesie Peesie!

onesie- Carter's, pink bow- here, owl- Anthropologie
She's started to find her voice this past month quite a bit. She coos and babbles and makes the cutest little baby noises you ever did hear. When I coo and babble at her, she'll do it back. It's so sweet, like we're having a conversation.
oh my, the cheeks! love 'em

Getting Minnie Mouse!
I was trying to sit Minnie next to her for the picture but Reese kept grabbing her and pulling her up to chew on. It was pretty funny. She was fast too!Reese is such a sweet and happy little girl. After the photo shoot with Daddy. Being a model is tough work! :)

Reese- 2 Months
I mentioned it in my last post, but my sweet baby girl is now 2 months old! I think it has gone a lot faster with my second kid. I looked down at her today while she was nursing and couldn't believe how much she's grown in these 2 short months. Her 2 month doctor appt is next week. I'm excited to find out how big she is and what the percentiles are.
Here is my sweet baby girl at 2 months old!
How cute is that owl by the way?! Reese came with me to our first trip to Anthropologie here in Lexington. It just opened. And I couldn't resist getting this cutie owl for her. :) I'm so excited we have our own Anthropologie here just minutes away! Just in time for us to move away in a few months. That's probably a good thing for my wallet. ;)
Oh just look at those chubby cheeks, I love them!
I'm just thrilled to report that nursing is going great! It was at this point (2 months) with Grayson that I finally completely gave up on nursing him and switched to bottles. We just could not get the hang of it and it was so painful and he couldn’t latch on and you get the idea. I felt a sense of relief but also guilt. I felt guilty I couldn’t do what other moms could for their babies. I knew it was the right decision for us, but I still wished it had turned out differently. Gray has turned out just fine, of course, and healthy and happy. But when I found out I was pregnant again, I wanted so badly for this time to be different. I knew of friends who, like me, had trouble nursing their first babies but were able to with their second. So I hoped and prayed the whole time that I would be able to nurse this baby. Well, my prayers were answered because, although it WAS difficult in the beginning, we figured out this nursing thing! Reese was able to latch on and I learned some more helpful things to help us get it right and prevent pain. I’ve heard different times from other moms about how long it takes before nursing isn’t painful . For me it was around 5-6 weeks. It felt like a long time, but it was SO worth it! I’m so grateful for this blessing!
Here are some pictures during this past month.
Slow down baby girl! Please stay little for Momma!

My sweet firstborn, love him to pieces!
Right before church on Sunday.
Why yes, I did have to bribe Gray to sit so well and look for these pictures.
I love Reese's little sweater dress, too cute!
