Baby #2 is...

A GIRL!!!

To say I am thrilled is a bit of an understatement!  If you know me well, you know how much I wanted a little girl this time.  I admit, I wanted Grayson to be a girl too, but this baby even more.  I'm so happy it turned out this way though.  While I may have wanted a girl first, I'm glad our first was a boy and that our future children will have an older brother to look up to.  And I can't imagine not having Gray in our little family now.

I don't remember if I mentioned it on here, but for those of you who asked me what I thought this baby was I said girl from the beginning.  And not just because that's what I was hoping for.  This pregnancy has been a lot different than my first.  Mainly in the fact that I wasn't nearly as sick, thank goodness!  What a blessing since I have Grayson this time around. :)  I also just had this feeling it was a girl.  I even called her a her a few times before the ultrasound, haha.  I knew Grayson was going to be a boy too, but wouldn't admit it to myself.  But he did turn out to be a boy and this time I felt more confident in my intuition.  So far I'm 2-0!  Hope I can keep it up. :)

Here is what I spent my day yesterday doing while Gray was napping and then again after he was in bed.

Baby girl headbands!!!

Some of them I attached to the headband permanently and other have clips on the back to slip on and off interchangeable headbands.  The ones that aren't on headbands have clips to attach them to a headband.

These first 3 were during nap time and I took them outside with natural light.  After that it was dark and I had to take them inside and without pretty backgrounds. :)

I think this one is going be for her blessing day with her all white dress.  I'm going to attach it permanently to a headband, but I want to wait until I can measure her head and make sure it will fit when I need it to!

I'm having so much fun already!  I can't wait to make lots more things for her.

On a completely different note, I cut my hair.  Again.  I cut a bunch off about 2 weeks ago and didn't like the style of it.  So I had even more cut off last week.  It is shorter than it's ever been, but I really like it.  It's nice for summer and faster to do in the morning.

After- take 1

16 Weeks

Grrrr...  I had this post all written, ready, and scheduled to post.  And it disappeared into oblivion.  Ugh.  So here it goes again-

I'm 16 weeks now and feeling great.  I really don't feel pregnant or remember I'm pregnant most of the time.  I think having Grayson has a lot to do with that, keeping me busy and all.  So this pregnancy is going by fast, which is great.

I'm still not showing much, but there's a little something there.  I'm in the awkward "I feel chubby and not pregnant" stage.  I can't complain though.  I don't gain weight in other places, just the belly (knock on wood).

I'm so excited for our ultrasound which is in exactly 3 weeks!!!!  I feel like it's a girl, so we'll see if I'm right.  I felt like Grayson was going to be a boy and was right then. :)

Also, today is my anniversary!  It's been a happy 4 years of wedded bliss! :)  I love you Josh, you are the best husband I could imagine and I feel so lucky to be your wife.  I can't wait for the next 50 years!

I Sewed a Quilt!

Yesiree people, I did it.  I sewed my very own quilt from start to finish.  I'm seriously so excited about the fact that I did it.  For some reason, sewing a quilt was one of those things that I thought was too hard and I'd never be able to do.  Only really good sewers could do that.  I'm happy to say I've proven that wrong!  I've only been sewing less that 2 years now.  So if I can do it, anyone who knows how to sew can.

Here it is, my pride and joy!

Grayson approves of it too.

The back view.

I really love the fabric for the backing, so pretty.  It matches one of the squares on the front.

I actually won the squares of fabric on another blog's giveaway.  It is the Ruby charm pack by Moda.  (A charm pack is a coordinating set of fabric pre-cut into 5 inch squares.)  Winning the squares was what inspired me to make my first quilt.  So glad I didn't have to cut out all those squares!  Cutting out the rest of the cream and red pieces was plenty of work.

I quilted this on my own sewing machine and even hand sewed the binding on.

I love it.  It's actually a gift for someone else.  I can't say who because they may read my blog.  But I doubt it, which is why I'm posting pictures of it anyways. Plus, I'm just so stinkin' proud of this baby!  Speaking of which, when I find out if my baby is a boy or girl I'm definitely going to start another one for him/her. :)
