The Past Few Weeks

Well, it's 5am and I'm up nursing my little angel.  No better time to blog, right? So I just realized that my baby girl is officially 1 month old today. What!!!???!!! No way. Yes way.  Cray. Zee.  I only just finished her birth story/newborn blog post because those first few weeks were such a tired haze that blogging was the furthest thing from my mind. I'm going to do a 1 month photo shoot with her later and hopefully blog about it soon. But, while I've got the time I figured I share some pictures from the past month with our little family of 4!

Enjoying Southern Lights {a sweet Christmas lights display} at Kentucky Horse Park.

Giving Reese a kiss, love it!

My little model

Gray likes to push her while she's already swinging in the swing.

My babies

I absolutely LOVE how newborns like to sleep with their arms up like this!

Fun at the park

I love this outfit.

Daddy cuddles

This is my favorite picture of them together.  Grayson likes to get the play mat out, lay down on it, and then ask for Reese come lay down next to him.  So sweet!

Our life had been crazy and fun and wonderful these past few weeks!  Josh has been lucky to have a super easy rotation where he doesn't really have to do anything and can just be home with us.  I won't have to do it on my own until January when she'll be 6 weeks old. {I know, lucky me.} I don't know what I'd do without him!  Going from 1 to 2 kids is hard enough.  But we wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Introducing...

Reese Mari Reynolds!
November 21, 2012

8lbs 3oz
20 inches

 Here's the birth story...

Reese was due November 19th but decided she was staying put.  So Josh and I went to the hospital at 6am on the 21st for my induction.  Grayson came on his own 5 days early, so being induced was new for me.  And I was pretty scared about it for some reason.

{The last belly shots!  40 weeks and 2 days}

When they did my first check I was only 2cm dilated, which is what I had been at my last doctor's appointment.  So no progress.  The nurse also said she was still really high up.  She had no plans of coming soon apparently! I got started on pitocin and then we waited.  Josh and I watched some HGTV and rested.

When I started feeling the contractions it was not fun to say the least.  They got painful quickly and when I couldn't take it anymore and was ready for my epidural I was only 4cm!!!  I thought for sure I would be farther along than that.  I made it to 7cm with Gray. Later I found out pitocin can make your contractions more painful. Yes it did! The doctor came in and broke my water and then I got my epidural.  Heaven!  I had been thinking about trying natural for my next pregnancy, but after feeling the pain again, I don't think I want to do that. I'm all for using technology and modern medicine! After my water broke things sped up and I progressed quickly.  Once I was fully dilated I pushed for 15 minutes and she was out!

Aunt Holly- she's a NICU nurse and wanted to be in the room with us for the birth.  It was good having her with us. :)
