Happy 101

Shelley gave out this award to anyone who reads her blog. I’ve never done one before, but I needed an idea to blog about, and I thought this was cute one.

As a recipient of this award the rules are to link up to the blogger who bestowed it upon you, list 10 things that make you happy, and then hand it off to some more bloggers!

Right now the 10 things that are making me happy are...

1. I'm having a sweet baby boy in August!

2. Josh's med school schedule is really good, he’s doing really well in his classes, and we have tons of time together.

3. We live next door to Adam, Jenn, and their boys (brother and sis-in-law)

4. Last day of school/work is June 3rd! I'm ready to be done with work, have a break, and get ready to be a mom!

5. Josh is cooking dinner right now as I type this, and that makes me VERY happy.

6. I have time to read. I love reading. I just finished the 5th and final Fablehaven book and it was sooo good.

7. Warm weather! I hate cold, winter, snow, and all of that stuff.

8. I LOVE the baby bedding I found and just bought. It’s so cute and has lots of bright colors. We can’t paint because we’re renting, so I wanted lots of color in other ways.

9. Tomorrow is Wednesday- halfway through the work week. Mondays and Tuesdays are rough.

10. Our tax refund is way more than I thought it would be. We’ll be able to pay for our cruise next summer (that was supposed to be this summer, but the baby isn’t letting that happen, but that’s ok) and save the rest for when we’ll need another car in the future.

I’ll copy cat Shelley and pass on this award to anyone who wants to do it!

So a baby update to add- I’ve been feeling the baby move around a lot and it’s so cool! My belly bump is completely obvious now, which I wanted! I’ll be 22 weeks on Thursday but I posted a 21 week pic here. For now we’re calling our lil’ baby Button, as a nickname, until we decide on his name. We have some ideas but I’d love to hear any good boy name suggestions you may have! So leave a comment and let me know.

20 Weeks/Mailbox Monday

Not much to report but here is my 20 weeks belly shot! I've started to feel him kicking now, which is really fun. :)

Also, look at everything I got in the mail on Monday!!! I sign up for freebies I'm interested in when the blogs post them. A few times a week now I have fun surprises in my mail- for free! This was quite the load though all in one day. I got a soap sample, tissue sample and coupons, fabric softener sample, a full size pack of gum, some feminine liner samples, and post-it tabs.

Its a Boy!!!!

The day that we had been waiting for since December finally arrived. I remember back then thinking about how far away April sounded. Our tech who did the ultrasound was super nice. I told her that I am a medical student and so she did a good job telling me each part that she was looking at and describing what it was and all. Despite the ultrasound tummy gel stuff being in the "warmer", according to Jenna's reaction it was just a hair under freezing. The tech told us after about 1 minute that it was a boy and we are very excited to now be able to start buying our boy things and decorating the nursery. I am pumped to have a little boy to start teaching how to play soccer. Luckily he has two cousins next door to help him out. His Grandpa Rhames has also already volunteered to teach him basketball (hopefully he gets some of the Rhames' height because its not coming from the Reynolds' side). Everything else about him was healthy and on track. The tech said that everything she looked at looked "perfect." That what we think about our Button, he is perfect. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound.

This one is the profile of his cute face. He looks so comfortable laying down. Even though he is upside down (head facing down in Jenna's stomach)
These are the cool 4D surface reconstructing images. You can see his ribs and his arm bent with is hand up by his ear.
This one is a picture of his face.
This is a profile of his face. His chin is in the middle and he is looking up toward the left. You can only really see his chin, lips, and nose. But it is a cute little round nose.
This one is a little more straight on of his face. His nose is the round bump in the center and you can see his eyes above and mouth below (just where they should be). Such a cute little boy.

Easter Weekend

I’ve done a lot this past weekend. One thing Josh and I did was start to clean out and organize the nursery a bit more. We have the crib halfway put up and, believe it or not from the picture, I have organized some stuff. Then I realized I needed a before picture that I can post later (waaay later) with the after picture of the nursery. So, here is the before of what it looks like now.

I also can’t help but to write about another AMAZING deal I scored! This time it was at… Toys ‘R Us! (did you know they have great deals? I never would have thought so.) And the deal was on cleaning products! Bet you didn’t think I was going to say that. :) So I was actually there with a friend doing a toy deal and saw that most of Seventh Generation cleaning products were on clearance for $1.98, which is a pretty good deal by itself. Especially for laundry detergent, which was $1.98 too! Anyways, so I knew there were coupons available online but I didn’t have them with me. So I went home, printed them ALL out, and went back later in the day. There are 5 coupons on the site which can be printed 2 times each. And they were all for $1 off (or $2 off 2, which is the same thing). So I went back with my coupons in hand and scored 6 dishwashing liquid bottles for $0.98 each, 1 dryer sheet box for $0.98 and 1 bottle of laundry detergent (that was all they had left ☹) for FREE! I got the detergent free because while I was looking at all the Seventh Generation products, I saw that the dishwashing soap had some coupons hanging like a tag on the bottles for $2 off any SG laundry detergent. And since it was marked down $1.98… it was free! I love free stuff. Especially things like that which can be so expensive normally priced and that you have to buy anyway. I only wish they’d had more detergent, but hey, 1 free one is great! So this is what I got for a grand total of $7.70 something after tax.

And if you want to get in on this deal, it would be easy to print off the coupons here and check your local Toys ‘R Us or Babies ‘R Us (they have the same things on clearance) to see what you can get. And don’t worry Lexington girls, there were still plenty left when I was there Saturday! (well, except laundry detergent of course) They also had fabric softener and other cleaning products available for $1.98.

Here are some more pics from the weekend. Josh and I did Easter baskets for each other. We hid them for each other and then found them; it was fun. I asked for no candy, so mine was a present (a UK shirt! which I have been wanting). Also, another belly pic for those who have been asking for more! I’m starting to show for real now. I know because other people are noticing! Friends, people at work, and even one of the students at the school I work at have said they can tell now. The student who could tell, a 3rd grade girl, came up to me today and said something like, “when’s your baby coming?” I said, “not for awhile.” I asked if she could tell because she looked right at my stomach before asking the question. She says, “yeah, cause you used to be skinny.” HAHAHA, it was hard no to laugh when she said that. ☺

Being Crafty

I love scrapbooking and crafts. I wish I was more crafty and creative like some people I know (Karianne S. and Emily S.- you guys are amazing!), but I try. I thought I would share a project that I just completed and am really happy with the results. It’s my own unique piece of art that was a lot cheaper that buying something that size!

I was going to do it all on my own, but Josh helped with a lot of it, especially the frame! It was kinda hard to nail it all together.

Then I ironed the fabric, staple gunned it to the frame, and ta-da! Not too hard. We did it in one night. ☺

I’m not sure where to put it yet… maybe the baby’s room if it’s a girl. Josh thinks it could be for a boy too, but I’m skeptical. What do you think??? By the way, I’m 19 weeks today and we find out in exactly one week whether we’re having a boy or a girl. I can’t wait!
